Somehow I was lucky enough to miss the worst of the UK weather and headed off for 10 days to enjoy the diving and the sunsets on Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean. The slave huts really moved me, apparently slaves used to live in these huts whilst they worked the salt ponds at the end of the island – I struggle to think of a worse way to work.
Some of the sunsets on the island were simply stunning and what better way to enjoy them then with a beer and a camera.
Bonaire really is set up for divers, and you can just walk of the beach onto a coral reef most places. Its stunning underwater there and the whole island is a marine national park which means the reefs are in great condition.
