Ham House

Ham House. Right by the Thames just outside Richmond upon Thames, its one of those really stunning venues in the borough. Its yet another of those places that makes me very lucky to have some beautiful places to work as a Surrey wedding photographer.

Ham House was stunned visitors when it was first built in the 17th Century and continues to do so today.Having survived wars, politics and fashion changes Ham House somehow maintains a unique and somewhat mysterious aura. Its simply a superb place to get married.

You can choose to get married in the wonderfully ornate great hall, and then should you be feeling extravagant host your reception in a marque on the kitchen lawns for anything up to 350 guests. And having Ham House, and its magnificent gardens as a back drop for your wedding photographs then you’ll look even more stunning in them.

Ham house was also used as the location for Vronsky’s grand apartments in the latest film adaptation of Anna Karenina. That it can be used for that somewhat sumptuous location tells you all you need to know about just how magnificent it is.

If you’re feeling brave, its reputed to be one of the most haunted houses in the UK.
